The COIN-OP WARS - Worldwide Arcade Ranking System was designed and developed by Stephen Holmes of 1UP Arcade (Brisbane, Australia), as a free tool to support the niche community of playing classic arcade games for fun and competition.

The core values set in place when designing the system were to create an easy to use, free to access system which rewards and encourages healthy competitive play for high scores, participation of arcade community events, and support of local retro-arcade venues around the globe. To this end, the system's unique points & ranking system aims to reward player involvement, acheivements and integrity.
